Manager - Farsonsdirect 12/21/2020

Reporting to the General Manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for the direct management of the Retail Operations within FBIC Ltd.  S/he will be expected to contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring and reviewing of a business strategy that maximises sales of the full portfolio along with the retail margins of the Group by driving sales and controlling costs. S/he will be expected to build motivated and high performing teams through the effective leadership and line management of retail staff.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the Farsondirect outlet/s in line with the set strategies, maintaining the required high standards in customer interaction, customer service and visual merchandising;
  • Building excellent relationships with key stakeholders in the business;
  • Maximising market knowledge and tackling the market proactively by identifying marketing strategies and organising events to prospect further business development;
  • Managing and motivating staff complement to ensure the best possible performance whilst offering the necessary opportunities to develop their customer approach skills;
  • Ensuring that the outlet/s are clean and properly maintained, with shelves being correctly stocked;
  • Developing a cost-effective operational plan to achieve outlet goals
  • Forecasting sales and inventory requirements, constantly reviewing sales, cost of inventory, operational expenses and inventory loss whilst analysing data to ensure profit margins are in line with set goals;
  • Collating information and other statistical reports on retail operations’ progress or action planning as required, following up on issues of discrepancies and customer related issues in a timely and accurate manner;
  • Addressing customer queries courteously and ensure customer satisfaction;
  • Managing the E-commerce business for Farsonsdirect to maximise sales whilst ensuring that customers ordering online view the outlet’s service as reliable and trustworthy.
  • Managing the marketing of Farsonsdirect.


The selected candidate is required to:

  • a good knowledge of wines & spirits;
  • preferably have a degree or professional business qualification;
  • have experience, knowledge and skills in the retail sales market including visual merchandising;
  • have the energy and leadership skills to motivate his/her team;
  • have demonstrated ability to manage detailed oriented budgets, achieve objectives, and implement effective operating controls;
  • have exceptional written and verbal communication both in English and Maltese;
  • have a proven record of building strong partnerships with clients and internal partners.
