H&S Security Coordinator 04/06/2019

Overall Purpose

The H&S Security Coordinator will assist the H&S Security Manager to coordinate, support and advise the Group on all aspects with regards to Health, Safety and Security. The post holder will aid in establishing, manage and monitor standards, processes, communications and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health, Safety and Security are adhered to.

Main Duties include but not limited to assisting the H&S Security Manager to:

  • Foster a safe working environment, ensuring that all Health, Safety and Security policies, procedures, rules and regulations are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated, and adhered to;
  • Ensure the Group meets its statutory obligations in all areas, including statutory training and reporting;
  • Ensure the documented completion and regular review of risk assessments within the Group;
  • Ensure that any accidents and near misses are documented, investigated and recommended improvements are implemented;
  • Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, and fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported according to established procedures;
  • Monitor upkeep of fire prevention, fire alarm systems and firefighting equipment including liaising with external suppliers of such systems;
  • Prepare security roster, coordinate security guards’ duties and replace security guards when necessary.

Qualifications

  • A recognised Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (or similar)
  • Related and appropriate practical experience in the manufacturing industry is an asset.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Excellent verbal and written communication (Maltese & English), IT and presentation skills
  • Professional approach, coupled with strong interpersonal skills
  • Effective handling of Health and Safety investigations
  • Ability to prioritise and manage own workload
