Fakawi rounds off The Farsons Great Beer Festival today 8/2/2009

The 29th edition of The Farsons Great Beer Festival will round off its last evening with another entertaining performance by Fakawi with guest stars Teletubi on the Rock Stage at Ta’ Qali Park. Tonight’s programme, starting at 9.00pm, will feature Ozzy Lino followed by Kylie and Versatile Brass Band on the Main Stage while the popular band Scream Daisy will kick off the Rock Stage hosted by 89.7 Bay. Doors open at 8pm and entrance and parking are free.

“Tonight The Farsons Great Beer Festival celebrates another successful blend of entertainment and award-winning brews and international brands. We thank our numerous loyal patrons for attending and making the 29th edition another great event,” said Ray Grech, Chief Marketing Officer, Simonds Farsons Cisk plc.

The different bars at the festival will be serving a variety of great quality local and international beer brands. These include Cisk Lager, Cisk Export, Cisk XS and the low-carbohydrate Cisk Excel, Hopleaf, Blue Label, Farsons Strong Ale, Budweiser, Carlsberg, Guinness, Kilkenny, John Smith’s, Beck's, and Corona.

The 2009 festival mug has been a hit and tonight is the last chance for collectors to add this year’s edition to their collection. It is available from all bars filled with the beer of choice or it can be purchased from the souvenir stall until stocks last.

“During the past 10 days the festival was jammed with music from leading Maltese bands and singers and thousands of visitors have enjoyed the live entertainment on both stages. Beer was the centre of attraction and the music complemented the fantastic atmosphere for all visitors,” said Ivan Filletti, Field Marketing Manager at Simonds Farsons Cisk plc.

The Farsons Great Beer Festival is sponsored by Vodafone Malta Limited, Peugeot and Banif Bank, and supported by Wilkinson Sword, Hawaiian Tropic, Walkers, Fotoclassic, Alert Communications, and the Malta Tourism Authority. Other participants include Nestlé, Peperami and Liquigas Malta Ltd.
