After the furore created in Europe, Pepsi’s latest commercial has now arrived in Malta. This year sees Pepsi’s new band of football heroes don their armour and gauntlets to star in the new medieval themed commercial, set to kick off on screens this week.
The feast of football titled, ‘Foot battle,’ directed by the renowned Tarsem Singh*, brings some of the biggest names in world football including Beckham, Carlos, Raul, Ronaldino, and Totti, who, together with young new players Rafael Van der Vaart, Fernando Torres, Ricardo Quaresma and Diego de Cunha, dare to conquer the Pepsi-snatching villains in the ultimate Clash of the Clans.
Set against a medieval backdrop, the commercial depicts an age where clansmen had to fight for what they believed in. As the story unfolds into a tactically fought game against the greedy opposition, the stars showcase their incredible talent by performing daring football skills. With their amazing array of tricks, the heroes are able to foil the bandit’s plans to steal the town’s supply of Pepsi. This ad is guaranteed to have consumers across the globe gripped. Beckham himself revealed how he “looked forward to the surprise” of the theme for this year’s commercial.
