The President of Malta, Professor Guido de Marco, today paid an official visit to Simonds Farsons Cisk plc. During his visit to Farsons Brewery at Mriehel, President de Marco was briefed by the Chairman Mr Bryan A. Gera, and the Group Chief Executive, Mr Louis A Farrugia who gave a comprehensive explanation of the developments undertaken by Farsons to make the Brewery one of the most modern in the Mediterranean region, which is this year celebrating its 75th anniversary.
Present during the President’s tour of the Brewery were Farsons Group Executive Board members Mr Anthony J. Tabone and Mr Paul Micallef.
Addressing the President after the Brewery tour, Mr Bryan A. Gera expressed his appreciation for the President’s visit, which he interpreted as a sign of encouragement to the current management and a sign of appreciation of the efforts made by past leaders of the brewing industry in Malta.
He referred to the Company’s achievements in the past seventy five years which has helped the Farsons Group not only to withstand competition but also to prepare itself for the opportunities which will are bound to arise in the future, following Malta’s accession to full European Union membership
Mr Gera emphasized the importance of need to have all the necessary structures in place so that the industry would be able to have access to the benefits of membership.
