MMM International, organisers of the Malta Music Awards since 1995, have announced that this year's edition of the Malta Music Awards will be held on the 29th November at the Eden Arena, St Georges Bay, St. Julian's. Nominations can be submitted by band members or their management either by post, or online. All those involved in the local music scene and who produced works during the period between June 2001 and August 2003 are to send their nomination to: The Malta Music Awards, MMM International, PO Box 155, Valletta. Online submissions can be made at www.mmm.com.mt.

This year's edition has been made possible through a sponsorship agreement with Carlsberg, a worldwide brand recognised for its international support to music. With this association, the awards night is expected to take the form of awards nights as seen on MTV and other music stations, not the usual formal style as in past years held at The Mediterranean Conference Centre. Another innovation on previous years is that the Best Live Gig Award and Best Upcoming DJ will be judged at pre-parties to be held between 15th October and 8th November. More details to be announced soon.

With Carlsberg's worldwide campaign "Carlsberg turns on the Music" an international DJ and producer has been signed to perform and is expected to end the awards night with an unforgettable set.

These National Music Awards are now held every two years, due to the fact that not enough material is released locally every year. MMM has organised other large scale national events including The Heineken Jammin' Festival with Antonello Venditti in 1999 and The Urban Jungle Music Festival in 2001 amongst others.

The Ministry for Youth and the Arts will also be supporting this event and promises all those attending that it will be a big night for all music lovers.
