Pizza Hut is celebrating its 10th Anniversary. To mark this occasion, Pizza Hut is launching two major activities during the month of September: a radio marathon in aid of charity and a pizza recipe competition.
Malta's four leading radio stations - Radio Capital, Radio 101, Super One Radio and Radio X.FM, will carry out and transmit a special fund raising event. Each radio station is assigned to one of the Pizza Hut restaurants. These are situated in Valletta, Sliema, St Julians and Fgura.
"Pizza Hut will make a donation for every pizza purchased between the 8th and 21st September 2003," said Food Chain Marketing Executive, Kevin Micallef. "We expect to raise a substantial sum for each participating charity." During this period, the radio stations will be promoting one particular Pizza Hut restaurant and ten cents from each pizza sold will go towards the station's favourite charitable institution, he added.
The radio station that raises the most money from their chosen restaurant will donate the raised funds to their chosen charity, and, as an added bonus, Pizza Hut will donate an added LM150. The chosen charities of each radio station are: the Ursuline Creche of G'Mangia for Radio Capital, Dar tal-Provvidenza for Radio 101, Dar Nazareth for Super One Radio and Dar il-Kaptan for Radio X.FM.
Another major promotional activity is a pizza-topping competition. Customers will be invited to submit a pizza recipe with their preferred toppings and made with the Pizza Hut world-renowned crusts. The winner of the most original topping and taste will receive a stunning prize - two return airfares to New York City, courtesy of Howards Travel and Lufthansa. The winning pizza will be the official 10th Anniversary Pizza and will be offered for a limited time period. Pizza Hut is also giving away 100 - Lm5 vouchers absolutely FREE, redeemable at any Pizza Hut outlet, to those participants who enter this fantastic competition.
"The 10th Anniversary celebration is the result of our continued efforts in delivering value for money to our customers as well as providing new products and innovative offers," said Mr Micallef.
Food Chain Holdings Limited, a subsidiary of Simonds Farsons Cisk plc, operates the Pizza Hut franchise in Malta.
