Burger King Malta adopts No Straws Policy

Burger King Malta are proud to champion a No Straws Movement across all its six stores starting January 2019.  This is part of Burger King’s effort to reduce single use plastic within the Burger King franchise.

Burger King Malta felt the need to contribute towards this initiative together with several other countries. Every little bit counts, and Burger King is doing it one straw at a time. Unless requested by guests, Burger King will not be giving a straw and plastic lid with drinks served for consumption within the restaurant. On the other hand, straws will be given with drinks sold for take-away due to practical reasons. Burger King urges its guests to join them in this meaningful journey.

Kurt Micallef, Business Manager of Food Chain is proud to see Burger King Malta launch this campaign. “Being one of Malta’s leading Quick Service Restaurant brands we felt we had to act and contribute to the devastating effect plastic is having on the environment. Our customers still have the option of requesting a straw, but we are noticing that many customers are willing to join us as we come together as a team and help to contribute in saving the planet one straw at a time.”

Burger King is operated in Malta by Food Chain Limited, a member of the Farsons Group, with outlets in Valletta, Paceville, Sliema, Mosta, Qormi and Malta International Airport.
