Distribution Manager 25/09/2017

A vacancy has arisen for the post of Distribution Manager.  Reporting to the Head of Logistics, the selected candidate will be responsible to manage and coordinate the distribution function in the most efficient way, within established budgets, whilst adhering to the highest levels of customer service, safety standards and quality standards.

The main duties will include:

  • Coordinating and controlling the order cycle, routing of orders and associated information systems;
  • Managing the replenishments of stock from Warehouse to Picking Area;
  • Liaising and negotiating with customers for distribution services;
  • Managing and coordinating activities within the logistics – human resources, routing, traffic, transportation, fleet management, deliveries, picking, replenishing, checking and stacking of stock, inventory control etc.
  • Reviewing on an on-going basis the productivity, processes and procedures in order to achieve maximum efficiencies and standards, monitoring KPIs as required;
  • Managing customer service issues as necessary;
  • Defining, communicating and evaluating clear performance objectives of the distribution team through the Performance Management System.

 

Most importantly you need to:

  • Have, as a minimum, a Degree or Higher Diploma in Warehouse Logistics or equivalent
  • Have a minimum of 3 year working experience in a Logistics managerial role;
  • Be a able to plan and prioritize;
  • Have good interpersonal and negotiation skills;
  • Possess proven problem solving skills;
  • Be ICT literate.
