On Monday, 28th July 2014, the new Burger King Drive Thru and Restaurant in Qormi officially opened its doors to the public.
'’We are proud to present Burger King's first Drive Thru on the Island'’ said Mr. John Bonello Ghio, General Manager of Food Chain Ltd, a subsidiary company of Simonds Farsons Cisk plc. ‘’Other than the new Drive Thru concept, the restaurant is also a first in many ways, boasting a new design concept, an outdoor garden dining area and a childrens’ play zone’’, he continued.
The new restaurant has a seating capacity of over 200 indoor and outdoor dining spaces. The garden dining area is partially covered and offers diners a tranquil atmosphere whilst enjoying their favourite Burger King meals.
Located near Lidl at The Landmark in Qormi, the Drive Thru and restaurant is conveniently situated and easily accessible from all parts of the Island. Parking is also available on the premises and the Drive Thru concept offers a convenient dining solution.
Mr. Ivan Cardona, Franchise Manager for Burger King Malta said, ‘’ This is a new exciting concept for Burger King in Malta and one we are sure our customers have been waiting for.’’ ‘’With the Burger King brand being customer focused, our main goal is to provide easy dining solutions to our customers with optimal, friendly service. Having formed a strong management team, we are confident that this outlet will yield great results’’.
Mr. Cardona also said that over 70 new jobs were created within the company with the opening of this new Burger King outlet.
The Restaurant and Drive thru were officially inaugurated by Mr. Louis Farrugia, Chairman of Simonds Farsons Cisk plc and Mr. Norman Aquilina, Group Chief Executive, on Sunday 27th July at an official opening event held at the restaurant.
Mr. Farrugia reminded the audience that is has been nearly twenty years since Burger King had first opened in Malta. He also thanked everyone involved for their passion and enthusiasm and stated that he was confident that this will be another successful Burger King outlet.
