A unique wine tasting event of Guerrieri Rizzardi wines is being held at Palazzo Parisio, Naxxar on Friday, 7th November 2008. The tasting, which will focus mainly on Amarone wines – a speciality of the Guerrieri Rizzardi estate - will be conducted by Dott Giuseppe Rizzardi, winemaker of the estate and will be followed by a Gala Dinner based on other wines from the range of the Guerrieri Rizzardi estate.

Guerrieri Rizzardi, is an historic wine-growing firm in the Veneto region, and is the result of the union between two ancient Veronese wine producers of substance: the Counts Guerrieri, owners of a centuries-old estate with vineyards and cellars in Bardolino, and the Counts Rizzardi, who acquired their vineyards in Negrar back in 1678, building the historic cellar of Pojega shortly thereafter.

Today, Guerrieri Rizzardi is under the ownership of the Rizzardi family. It remains a family business with vineyards in the four Classico areas for the production of the Veronese wines of Bardolino, Valpolicella, Soave and Valdadige. Guerrieri Rizzardi is based in Bardolino and housed in the ancient building belonging to the Guerrieri family and its ancestors since 1450. All grapes come from estate vineyards and the wines are vinified in the cellars situated in each appelation.

Guerrieri Rizzardi believe in producing wines as an expression of the soil and of the grape variety, thus enhancing the unique personality and character of each wine. The ultimate goal is to produce wines of quality that are modern and fruit forward, yet connected to their heritage.

The best introduction to Guerrieri Rizzardi comes directly from Gambero Rosso - Vini d'Italia 2008 "Guerrieri Rizzardi, a wine estate with great history and image, which owns vineyards in all three of the most important Classico areas of the Veronese DOC wines, with a choice of wines that - quality speaking - are in continuous growth".

Amarone wines, the focus of the wine tasting event, are a speciality of the Guerrieri Rizzardi estate and are consistently among the Tre Bicchieri and Due Bicchieri award winners from Gambero Rosso.
