Last weekend of The Farsons Great Beer Festival 8/1/2008

After a successful first week with thousands of visitors every night, the 28th edition of The Farsons Great Beer Festival enters its final weekend tonight.  While beer takes the centre stage at the open-air festival, running till Sunday, 3rd August at Ta’ Qali Park, this ten day popular event serves as an important showcase for top Maltese talent.

“Live performances are integral to The Farsons Great Beer Festival. We are delighted to be able to offer both young and established singers and musicians this opportunity to perform to a large audience every night,” said Ivan Filletti, Field Marketing Manager at Simonds Farsons Cisk plc.

The line-up on the Main Stage and the Rock Stage for this weekend is as follows:

MAIN STAGE
Tonight, 1 August:        Kristina Casolani, Ira Losco
Saturday, 2 August:      Salt and The Rifffs
Sunday, 3 August:        Joe Cutajar & Band, Zoo and Sigmund’s Band

ROCK STAGE
Tonight, 1 August:         NV and Scream Daisy
Saturday, 2 August:       White Crimson, Drive and Fire
Sunday, 3 August:         Ivan Filletti and Fakawi
 

During the festival, beer lovers have the opportunity to taste Farsons local brews produced exclusively for export – Farsons Strong Ale, Cisk Red and Cisk Extra Strong.   There is also a vast selection of local and international award-winning beers available from 13 different bars. All these are accompanied by a great variety of foods from the Food Court area.

This year’s official festival mug makes a worthy addition to any beer drinker’s mug collection. It can be purchased from the Souvenir Stall or from any of the bars filled with the beer of choice. Other souvenirs and special offers are available at the Souvenir Stall.

The main sponsors are Vodafone Malta Limited, Malta Tourism Authority, Gasan Enterprises Limited and HSBC Bank plc. The festival is also supported by Walkers, Alert Communications, Wilkinson Sword, Algida, Fotoclassic, Mailbox, Tuc, Energizer and St John’s Rescue Corps.
