Operations Supply Chain Manager 03/07/2019

A vacancy has arisen for the post of Operations Supply Chain Manager within Simonds Farsons Cisk plc.  Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the selected candidate will be responsible to manage the activities of the purchasing department along with the purchasing of supplies and materials at the optimal price, quality and delivery cycle. S/he will also be responsible for the oversight of the company’s General Stores and the Planning and Inventory function.

The selected candidate will be required to:

  • Lead and motivate the teams of the various functions under his or her responsibility to ensure optimal performance and meeting of agreed deadlines;
  • Conduct research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality as well as developing and maintaining good professional relationships with suppliers;
  • Forecast price trends and their impact on the company’s activities, produce reports as necessary;
  • Carry out the tendering process, including development of bid packages, proposal analysis and development  and negotiation of contracts of the various raw materials and beverage containers as well as other items required for operations;
  • Support the LEAN process, budgeting process and any other requirements of this senior management role;
  • Liaise with suppliers, manufactures, relevant internal departments, including  other operations teams and finance as well as customers;
  • Work closely with the managers responsible for General Stores and Inventory and Planning to ensure synergies and common direction for maximum efficiencies and effectiveness whilst promoting opportunities for continuous improvement.

The selected candidate will:

  • be qualified at tertiary level, preferably with a professional qualification in purchasing and supply chain management;
  • at least have 4 – 5 years’ experience in management, mainly within Supply Chain Management;
  • have excellent negotiating, networking and communication skills as well as IT skills;
  • be organised, attentive to detail and have good business acumen;
  • be an experienced leader, capable to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
