Food Safety Technologist 04/09/2017

The Company is seeking to strengthen its Quality team by recruiting a Food Safety Technologist. Reporting to the Head of Quality, the selected candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing the Safety and Quality Assurance programs and strategy across operational processes in accordance with established Company policies.

The chosen applicant will:

  • Direct all activities related to the verification of the consistent quality and safety of all raw materials and products, such as franchise and/or third party product audits;
  • Oversee internal and external audits for food safety deficiencies and provide immediate feedback to managers as to areas of weakness and solutions to ensure customer satisfaction;
  • Review regulatory inspection reports and ensure appropriate Area Manager information and follow up on necessary steps to remain in compliance;
  • Maintain knowledge of food safety, HACCP, current industry issues and new technology regarding food and packaging products;
  • Serve as a liaison with regulatory and industry officials to maintain knowledge of and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations;
  • Actively engage with all processes and sections within the Production Dept to be able to support in the Corrective Action Plan Implementation;
  • Oversee and direct the general & administrative budget for QA and Food Safety departments.

The selected candidate/s will:

  • have as a minimum a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Food Science/ Technology, Microbiology or related sciences;
  • possess strong leadership and team facilitation skills;
  • show initiative and creativity and being thorough and persevering;
  • be systematic, process-oriented, multi-tasking and familiar with problem solving techniques;
  • be ICT literate and have excellent presentation skills.
