Budweiser unveils Maltese website 8/13/2004

King of Beers gears site specifically for Malta

Budweiser, the King of Beers, has launched a new website specifically geared for the Maltese market. To coincide with this launch, Budweiser is giving its adult consumers a great opportunity to participate in an exclusive online competition and six participants can win a fantastic trip to Monza F1 Grand Prix in September 2004.

The new site, www.budweiser.com.mt, offers adult consumers the opportunity to learn about the Budweiser brand, its history and the brewing process.  Visitors to the site can also view Budweiser TV spots, download branded screensavers and wallpaper, and register to receive emails regarding upcoming Budweiser promotions.

“The new Budweiser website will be a great way for us to reach Maltese beer drinkers,” said Geoffrey Busuttil, Budweiser Brand Manager, Simonds Farsons Cisk plc.  “The new site features information about Budweiser’s commitment to freshness and instructions on how to properly pour and taste beer.”

In addition, the site includes information on the brand’s many international sports sponsorships including the FIFA World Cup, Manchester United, Chelsea F.C. and the BMW WilliamsF1 Team.

“To celebrate the launch of the Budweiser website and as the official sponsor of Williams F1 Team, Budweiser is offering an exceptional opportunity to six lucky winners to go to Monza and see what will surely be one of the most important races of this season,” continued Mr Busuttil.

The Budweiser Team will be visiting various selected pubs and bars around Malta and Gozo distributing cards to Budweiser drinkers.  The cardholders can log on to www.budweiser.com.mt, click on True Promotions and register the unique Budweiser code found on the card.  Budweiser gifts are given away at random but for every code entered, the cardholders will earn one point.  They will be prompted to answer a Budweiser or a Williams F1 related question, which will earn them bonus points.

The first six participants with the highest number of points at noon of the 30 August 2004 will win a trip to the Monza F1 Grand Prix in September.  The prize includes all transport expenses, hotel accommodation and Grandstand tickets to the race.
