T.G.I. Friday’s takes its Menu to the Extreme 23/03/2004

At T.G.I. Friday’s, good food and fun come with every visit. The restaurant that has been credited with popularizing the fajitas around the world is now celebrating the debut of Extreme Tacos – a wild fusion of popular regional American tastes.

Extreme Tacos offer two soft flour tortillas filled with chicken or beef and topped with special sauces and toppings.

The Extreme Buffalo Chicken Tacos are stuffed with Super Tangy Buffalo Chicken Strips, creamy blue cheese and shredded red cabbage. Twisted BBQ Hamburger Tacos combine chargrilled barbecue topped with crispy bacon, melted Colby cheese and cool lettuce, whilst the Black and Bleu Hamburger Tacos feature juicy hamburger sautéed with Cajun blackening spices and rolled in a flour tortilla with creamy blue cheese dressing, chopped lettuce, diced tomatoes and onions.

The tacos combinations are paired with crisp fries and prices start at an affordable Lm3.49.

Stefania Conte, General Manager at Food Chain Holdings, said, “Tacos, which originate from Mexico, have been long-time favourites for diners who like to wrap up bites of tender meats and spices in a tortilla and drizzle them with sauces. Loaded with tempting flavours, the new Extreme Tacos are an exciting addition to the Friday’s menu that also features favourites for any occasion, such as appetizers, hamburgers, sandwiches, salads, steaks, ribs and chicken dishes.”

“The new Extreme Tacos at Friday’s take diners’ imaginations to an extreme limit,” continued Ms. Conte.

Extreme Tacos are served at T.G.I. Friday’s Bar and Restaurant at Il-Fortizza, Tower Road, Sliema. The T.G.I. Friday’s franchise in Malta is operated by Simonds Farsons Cisk plc through its subsidiary, Food Chain Holdings Limited.

T.G.I. Friday’s Bar & Restaurant has become a favourite pastime for millions of guests around the world since the opening of the first restaurant in 1965. The worldwide restaurant chain features trend-setting American-style food and beverages as well as vintage-style décor of classic antiques, stained-glassed windows, wooden floors, brass accents, Tiffany-styled lamps, and red-and-white stripes.

T.G.I Friday’s leads the industry in innovation, not only in creating a unique atmosphere with friendly service, but also in food and beverage presentation. To stay on top of current trends, Friday’s menu includes a wide selection of char-grilled hamburgers, one-of-a-kind appetizers, frozen drinks and other items that appeal to everyone.
